Allstar functions are defined in the [functions] stanza in

/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf. The function definitions map DTMF key

sequences to an action. In all BBB and RPi2 images a core set of

definitions are configured.

DTMF sequences are often mapped to the internal Allstar COP, STATUS,

or ILINK commands but they can also directly execute a script. Below

is a list of the basic commands in every BBB and RPi2 image. The

number following functions is the node it is associated with. This is

mapped by the functions statement within the node definition stanza.

If your node was 1998 it would be:

functions=functions1998

Meaning the functions for this node are controlled by the

[functions1998] stanza. Each node can have its own [functions] stanza

defined by the above statement but often one stanza serves all nodes

on one server in which case they would all be mapped to that one

function stanza.

Allstar Internal Commands

The following commands are defined internally in Allstar and can be

executed in the Asterisk client or mapped to DTMF functions as

needed.

AllstarLink ILINK Commands

ILINK Commands:

1 - Disconnect specified link

2 - Connect specified link -- monitor only

3 - Connect specified link -- tranceive

4 - Enter command mode on specified link

5 - System status

6 - Disconnect all links

7 - Last Node to Key Up

Allstarlink Remote Commands

Remote Commands:

1 - Recall Memory MM (*000-*099) (Gets memory from rpt.conf)

2 - Set VFO MMMMM*KKK*O (Mhz digits, Khz digits, Offset)

3 - Set Rx PL Tone HHH*D*

4 - Set Tx PL Tone HHH*D* (Not currently implemented with DHE

RBI-1)

5 - Link Status (long)

6 - Set operating mode M (FM, USB, LSB, AM, etc)

100 - RX PL off (Default)

101 - RX PL On

102 - TX PL Off (Default)

103 - TX PL On

AllstarLink using Zoiper Port and Node Settings [Solution]

OK so port 5038 is the Asterisk manager port. Do not use this port.

It should not be used in Zoiper config for targeting a server to make a call.
You want to use IAX via port 4569 if you’re following the regular instructions floating around.
(Only change this port up/down if you’re running multiple nodes behind same router.)

So:
Target the Node with port :4569 in the address instead.
Make sure you’re making an IAX connection and not a SIP connection.

I haven’t really played with mine in about a year and a half but I know when I was I had various issues connecting to different devices and programs such as zoiper. What I found was there seems to be an invisible character in the all-star iax.conf file. What I had to do was completely retype the file without copying and pasting. Once that was done things connected with no issue. Let me know if that fixes your problem or not. It’s worth a shot.

I am trying to setup a system by just following the Beginners Guide and using ASL_MEMU. I want to have a static IP, and followed the instructions in the menu entering the data and then saving it. The system remains in DHCP mode every time. When I look at the /etc/network/interfaces file, there are no entries made. When I look for information on setting a linux static IP, it shows entering data in this file. Has anyone had success following the ASL-MENU?

More than one Multi Allstar Node server on a LAN

The widespread use of the BBB has made it much more likely that you will be using more than one server at a given location on a single public IP address. This document describes what you need to do to implement multiple servers in this way.

When you have more than one server on the same private LAN and you want to connect them locally or connect into them from the Internet there are some special setup considerations. Allstar uses a database that is constantly updated with the public IP addresses and ports of all other active nodes on the network including your own. So if you have two (or more) local nodes on different computers and they try to connect to each other they will not be able to. Most routers do not know how to handle their own public IP from within the LAN. The nodes on the LAN need to be aware of each others local IP address and port. The rpt.conf files has a section called [nodes] where the local IP address and port information for other nodes in your network can be stored. The node numbers in this section have prority over any listing in the downloaded database. Here is an example showing how to do this for two or more nodes on the same LAN:

First you need to go to Allstarlink.org and put each server on a different port. The default iax port is 4569 and when you define a server that is what is assigned. If you have two servers you need to pick one and change the port, say to 4568. You do this in the network tab of the server configuration at Allstarlink.org. Only change the port, do not change or add any IP addresses. The IP address setting should be DHCP in most all cases. If you have more than two servers on the LAN just keep assigning new port numbers for each.

Edit the rpt.conf file and in the [Function] Stanza add the following 2 lines (980 and 981 can be any available numbers)

save the changes then create a cron

To set a cron Log into the node using PUTTY

Select option 9 - Start Bash Shell Interface

type crontab -e

add the following lines Change XXXXX to your Node Number

#Disable all incoming connections at 11 pm every day on XXXXX 00 23 * * * /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "rpt fun XXXXX *980"
#Enable all incoming connections at 7 am every day on XXXXX 00 07 * * * /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "rpt fun XXXXX *981"

Then hit Control O Select Y then Control X

(Write out, Accecpt,Exit) Change the times as needed

If you are using SuperMon you can log in and hit the button marked <CONTROL> Then from the drop down menu select Disable or Enable Incoming connections and then press Execute.

Don't forget to run from the main login screen the Option 1 Perform a System Update option. There are bug fixes and updates that you can do.

The DR2X will not do MMDVM from what I understand.

The URI-X plugs into the USB of the raspberry Pi and just offers a DB25 pinout for interfacing instead of using a USB sound FOB as it is the sound FOB in essence.

Otherwise you could interface the FOB using the CT-167 cable which gives you the COR/COS, PTT, GND, Mic Hi, and RX audio

It’s also a complete repeater controller or you can connect it to a port of an existing controller. You can also use it to build simplex nodes, remote bases and conference bridges.
